Research Areas:

Healthcare Technology Innovation and Medical Service System. Technological innovations in biomedicine and digital technology have profoundly transformed medical and health services, leading to changes in the efficiency of medical services and health outcomes. At the same time, ecological elements such as physician attitudes and skills, medical organizational forms, review and approval processes, and medical security also profoundly affect the level and effectiveness of the application of health technology. The research team conducts the following research through large-scale surveys, randomized controlled trials, and big data analysis: (1) Assess the effects and mechanisms of impact of innovative drugs and digital technology on medical services and behaviors, and health outcomes; (2) From the perspective of multiple ecological stakeholders (physicians, hospitals, patients, medical security, approval, etc.), study the extent and pathways of the impact of ecological elements on the adoption and promotion of health technology; (3) Based on cutting-edge methods, form predictive models for disease risk prediction, medical resource allocation, and medical technology management.

Science Contribution:

(1) Integrate the trends of technological change and challenges of the health system to form theoretical models and optimization strategies for the impact of digital technology on the system; (2) Rely on large-scale data and empirical methods to elucidate the mechanisms by which technology affects the prevention and treatment of major diseases; (3) From the perspective of multiple stakeholders, combined with national databases and representative surveys, reveal the mechanisms by which system elements affect the application of health technology. Undertake more than 30 consulting and research projects from the Office of the Central Leading Group on Financial and Economic Affairs, the Research Office of the State Council, the National Health Commission, the National Healthcare Security Administration, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the National Social Science Fund, the Ministry of Science and Technology's key research and development plan, etc., complete more than 40 papers and books, 5 of which have been responded or reviewed by government leaders at the vice-national level or above, 1 of which has been affirmed by the Deputy Prime Minister, 2 have been responded by provincial and ministerial leaders, and papers have been published in top medical journals such as The Lancet and its sub-journals, The New England Journal of Medicine sub-journals, some of which have been rated as "highly cited papers", and have undertaken consulting work for relevant ministries and commissions, the World Health Organization, the World Bank and other international organizations for many years.
